2023's Fastest Cars

2023’s Fastest Cars

It is hard to believe that the first car rated as “the fastest car” was in 1894, and it was the Benz Velo. This “luxury” vehicle was clocked at 12 miles per hour, making it the fastest car at the time. Now, ultra-luxury and ultra-sports vehicles reach speeds you may not even believe.

The Top 10 Fastest Cars For 2023

We broke the list up to include not just ultra-luxury vehicles. While many of these vehicles have top speeds that cannot be reached by regular production vehicles, they are also very rare. So our list contains rare as well as production vehicles

Top Ultra Luxury Vehicles

1. Bugatti Chiron

The Bugatti Chiron is considered the fastest car in the world. This ultra-rare vehicle has a proven track speed of 304 mph. The ultra-light body and sleek design complement the amazing engine in this vehicle. Bugatti, however, has announced that their new vehicle slated for production in 2024 the Bolide, will be able to reach 310 mph with no problem. The Bolide will sell for an estimated $4.5 million and be limited to a production of 40 vehicles.

2. Koenigsegg Jesko

The Jesko is a Swedish supercar that has 1,600 horsepower coming from its twin-turbo V-8 engine. The Jesko has been verified to reach 300mph on the track. The car has a limited production of 60 vehicles and averages $3.5 million.

3. SSC Tuatara

The Tuatara is one of the newest vehicles to make the list. It was first released in 2020 and is the first super vehicle produced by SSA (formerly Shelby Super Car). The Tuatara was believed to be able to reach 331 mph, but its best track speed so far has been 291. These super sports cars run between $1.3 and 1.9 million each.

4. Hennessey Venom F5

Hennessey Special Vehicles was first established in 2017, and the Venom F5 is their first real vehicle to be tested. The manufacturers were hoping for a top speed of 310 mph, but currently, the vehicle holds a track record of 278. The car has a 1917 horsepower engine, so it is easy to believe they will achieve the 300-plus mark very soon. Only 25 vehicles have been produced, and they are being sold for around $3 million.

5. McLaren Speedtail

The Speedtail is one of the newest lines of McLaren “production” vehicles. This super sports vehicle can reach speeds of 249 mph. The Speedtail has a limited production of 102 vehicles and sells for just under $3 million.

Production Vehicles

6. Chevrolet Corvette Z06

The Corvette Z06 is at the top of the list of production vehicles with a 495 horsepower engine that can reach speeds of 186 mph with little effort. The car can go from 0-60 in 2.8 seconds. Chevrolet has announced that its new hybrid Corvette, the E-Ray, can go from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 190 mph. However, this vehicle is not yet released.

7. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

The new 2023 Camaro ZL1 is the fastest Camaro ever built. This new sports car has reached 185 mph and is believed to have the potential for 200 mph. The car made 0-60 in just four seconds. The regular 2023 Camaro can also make the list of fastest production cars.

8. Tesla Model X

The Tesla Model X was the first crossover SUV and still holds the record for speed in its class. This SUV can go from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 155 miles per hour.

9. Tesla Model S

The Tesla Model S is a powerful vehicle being an all-electric car. The car can reach 0-60 in 1.99 seconds, making it one of the fastest production vehicles from a dead stop ever to be produced. The Model S has a top speed of 149 mph.

10. Rivian R1T Pick-Up Truck

The Rivian R1T pickup truck is a quad-motor electric pickup that can produce 835 horsepower. The vehicle manufacturer has stated that the top speed for this pickup truck is 115 mph. However, the truck made 123 and 129 mph speeds on the test track.

Of course, several other production vehicles could have made the list. The new Ford F150 Lightning all-electric truck is supposed to have speeds higher than the Rivian pickup truck, but the manufacturer has not released the actual speeds at this time.

While all of these vehicles are impressive pieces of machinery, it is important to remember that regardless of how fast they go, there are still speed limits that must be followed. So, any vehicle you purchase, be it an ultra-luxury Bugatti Chiron or an electric Rivian pickup truck, you can probably only max out the speeds at 70mph in your area.
